About

About Me...
I got my first camera at age 7, a Polariod One Step… I’ve never been without a camera since! I love to capture those moments that I never want to forget. The things that might fade from our minds over time, but can be brought back by simply looking at a photograph… I’m also very sentimental and I believe that is why I cherish those photographs so much. This is what I love to offer to others through my work. To give them a beautiful photograph that will allow them to look back years from now and remember a special time in their life. Though I have taken somephotography courses through the years, I don’t carry a degree in the arts or hold a certificate from a photography school. I have learned a lot through doing. I was a photographer for Walmart for a time, but have since found myself working in the veterinary field, which I also love. With the inception of digital photography I found it easier (more affordable) to explore my interests in picture taking. I began experimenting with pet portraits (thanks to all of my co-workers I seem to have had an endless supply of models) and I have really enjoyed it. I also have two children who where my first real human models and will be very well remembered as I have more pictures of them than days they have graced this earth… They have both been involved in sports and ride horses; participating in barrel racing competitions. What started as photographing just my kids, then their friends, has turned into photographing all of the riders and all of the players. All of these things combined led me to the creation of “Life’s Fondest Memories Photography” I have taken on a variety of photography endeavors in addition to pets and events which include human portraits (individual and family), business head shots, car races, and website photographs for several animal hospitals. I have photographed a variety of functions (though I prefer to be a secondary photographer for weddings since my sentimental side won’t let me forget that if I blow it, that first kiss is lost forever!). I have been taking workshops and look forward to implementing new creative techniques with newborns as well as senior portraits. Overall, I have been told I have a great eye and a knack for photography. I believe my love of the art and desire to create those sentimental keepsakes for people help me see what makes for an eye-catching photograph. Though my full time job is still in the veterinary field, and caring for my family, I am finding ways to make photography a more prominent part of my life. I have a portable studio set-up but I really prefer outdoor photo shoots when available. In time I would like to have a permanent studio available and dedicate more time to the craft. Until then I look forward to learning more and working with more and more wonderful people (and animals) giving them something to treasure that over time will hopefully bring back “life’s fondest memories…”
